Architecture from Within

Industrial studio for an architecture student

Main.jpeg

When does a small studio start thinking with you?

Nikita is an engineering student. For him, space is more than a place to live — it is a medium for thinking, experimentation, and shaping a professional perspective. This compact 28 m² studio became an opportunity to create an interior that functions as an extension of his inner world — honest, functional, and expressive.

The challenge was to shape an architecturally precise space within a minimal footprint — guided by clear logic, thoughtful living scenarios, and an industrial aesthetic. Here, every element has a purpose, every decision is driven by function, and the interior becomes a reflection of the mindset of a future architect.

The project is built on the idea that architecture begins from within — from logic, structure, and real human needs.

Here, the industrial style is not about roughness for the sake of effect, but about honest materials, precise proportions, and balance.

Raw textures, brickwork, dark lighting, and expressive surfaces are used in measured amounts, allowing the compact studio to feel open and ordered rather than heavy or confined.

Sleeping area — Quiet Module

One of the key decisions was to incorporate a full-size bed rather than a sofa. Despite the compact footprint, the sleeping area is seamlessly integrated into the space, creating a sense of comfort and privacy. This choice emphasizes the importance of everyday comfort and quality of life, even within a small studio.

Workspace — Focus Point

For an architecture student, the workspace is one of the most essential zones.

A large desk was designed to comfortably support studying, working on a laptop, drawing plans, and using task lighting. This is not a formal workstation, but a fully realized area for focus, concentration, and thinking.

Living area — Social Core

The living area was conceived as a space for socializing and relaxation.

A large TV and a dedicated spot for a gaming console allow Nikita to gather with friends, watch football, or enjoy game nights. The space remains restrained in its design, yet easily adapts to different everyday scenarios.

Kitchen — Functional Module

Despite its compact size, the kitchen is fully functional and comfortable for everyday cooking. It includes a two-burner cooktop, a microwave, a slim 45 cm dishwasher, and sufficient countertop space.

The kitchen remains visually light and unobtrusive, while fully meeting all essential daily needs.

Bathroom — Pure Geometry

The bathroom became a distinct architectural accent within the project.

Unconventional solutions were introduced here: an architectural mirror that enhances spatial depth, expressive tiles paired with dark fixtures, as well as a shower area and a compact washing machine.

The space feels bold and contemporary, seamlessly aligning with the overall industrial aesthetic.

Storage — Hidden Structure

One of the key requests was to minimize open shelving. The project incorporates floor-to-ceiling wardrobes and closed storage systems, ensuring that every item has its place while keeping the interior visually clean and composed. Hidden storage behind the clothing rail allows everyday items to be concealed without disrupting the spatial logic.

A large mirrored wall enhances the sense of depth, reflects natural light, and makes the studio feel visually more spacious.

This compact studio became an architectural exercise — a space where form, function, and everyday life come together as a single system. It is an environment that does not distract, but instead supports focus, discipline, and the rhythm of life of Nikita as a future architect.

Looking for an interior that supports your lifestyle and the way you think?

Let’s create a space with character — logical, functional, and reflective of who you are.
